UNODC partnering with Eastern Africa Police Chiefs to support Regional Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence, 8 June 2020

The regional project, being implemented by the UNODC Regional Office for Eastern Africa and Terrorism Prevention Branch, in partnership with the EAPCCO CTCoE, seeks to fully operationalize the CTCoE by strengthening its research and analysis capacity and output, and by supporting the CTCoE to provide bilateral and regional capacity building to EAPCCO Member States. UNODC Provides Ongoing Assistance to Eastern Africa Police Amidst COVID-19, dated 8 October, 2020

UNODC, through its Regional Office for Eastern Africa (ROEA) and Terrorism Prevention Branch (TPB), is currently supporting the EAPCCO (Counter- Terrorism Centre of Excellence)CTCoE through a comprehensive regional project, the project aims to fully operationalize the Centre, strengthen the research and analysis capacity and output of the CTCoE, and support the CTCoE to provide bilateral and regional capacity building to the EAPCCO Member States – an important step towards enhancing regional cooperation in countering terrorism and violent extremism in Eastern Africa. Supporting the EAPCCO Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence

The project, with the funding of the Government of Germany, concentrates on providing technical assistance, capacity building, and operational guidance to enable the EAPCCO members, the EAPCCO Secretariat, and the EAPCCO CTCoE to effectively cooperate in criminal matters to prevent and counter-terrorism, violent extremism, and transnational organized crime in Eastern Africa. Regional Police chiefs meet to discuss organized crimes, arms trafficking, held on 06 November, 2023.
